This weekend, November 1st in New York a special auction at Sotheby’s, The LIVESTRONG Foundation auctioned 7 Trek model, one of a kind bikes designed by different important contemporary artists.

LIVESTRONG foundation raised 1.3 million dollars, with the Damien Hirst "Madone" bicycle, descorated with butterfly wings (to the horror of PETA) going for $500,000 alone. Another bicycle was designed by Yoshitomo Nara. The entire ation results are here and here.
